Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 9 to 15.
Many celebrities have a hard time managing their life in the public eye. While people view celebrities as role-models, they may forget that film stars and musicians can be flawed and, like the rest of us, they, too, can be dealing with their own personal struggles. Meeting one's favourite celebrity can be inspirational or frustrating, depending on the circumstances.
A celebrity's personality is often carefully managed so that the public eye sees them as very friendly, or even humble. But when you meet a celebrity in their daily life, you may find them arrogant or distant. Stories of meeting artists in restaurants or airports who are dismissive of fans' requests for pictures abound. This turns some fans off, whereas others are unsurprised and just see it as a trait shared by the rich and famous.
While some suggest that celebrities have the right to some privacy, others argue that being a celebrity means becoming accustomed to fans approaching you wherever you are, or whatever you are doing. They claim being a celebrity is partially about giving up some of your private life to your adoring fans. Being able to adapt to constant recognition is a necessary attribute needed for dealing with a life of fame.
Today, technology has certainly changed the relationship between celebrities and their public. With the abundance of smartphones, people may be requesting photos, or an autograph would have been asked in the past. The spread of photos over social media may worry celebrities whose locations become quicker to identify and who fear a crowd gathering while they try to simply take a walk or enjoy a meal.
The question of privacy for world-famous celebrities today is a difficult but important one to address. Fans need to be aware that celebrities lead personal lives separate from their public personas and they need to remember that celebrities value their privacy as much as anyone else. Likewise, celebrities should take into account the taxing nature of fame. They should perhaps work on strategies that are compatible with their personalities to deal with it.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 31 to 35.
Clever crows have surprised scientists once again with remarkable problem-solving skills. In a task designed to test their tool-making skill, a group of New Caledonian crows was presented with a problem in which food was placed in a box behind a door that left a narrow gap along the bottom. With the food deep inside the box and only short sticks - too short to reach the food - the crows were left to work out what to do. The sticks were designed to be combinable - one was hollow to allow the other to slot inside. And with no demonstration or help, four out of the eight crows inserted one stick into another and used the resulting longer tool to fish for and take the food from the box. In the wild, crows have been also known to be able to use tools. They can use leaves, rocks, and even their own feathers to facilitate other important tasks. They even can use hooks to trap insects.
How intelligence evolves was studied in one experiment when crows were prompted to use a kind of vending machine to gain rewards. By studying the birds' cognitive abilities, researchers hope that their findings could help the development of Artifical Intelligence (AI) technology. Presented with these tasks, unlike anything crows would come upon in nature, scientists showed how the birds adapted their own instinctual behavior to complete the fabricated tests.
